artist biography
Cara Mason was born in 1988 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is going into her third year of Fine Arts, with a focus on oil painting. Prior to University, Mason spent several years working with inner city children, and students with special needs. Having a background in what can generally be an upsetting and depressing field hasn’t resulted in dark work. While her subject matter is often serious, the actual works are done in a comedic and light hearted way. Mason’s work has been published in Weddings in Winnipeg and was recently featured in The Manitoban. While finishing her degree, Mason continues her work with children and currently teaches children’s mixed media classes with a basis on Art History.
